AUSTIN (KJCE) -- The country's oldest living World War II veteran that calls Austin home has been hospitalized with a case of pneumonia.

112-year old Richard Overton is recovering from the illness in the hospital for the second time this year. He's been there since Wednesday.

In addition to being the country's oldest living WWII veteran, Overton also is the country's oldest living man.

Back in July, thieves targeted a bank account belonging to Overton, with the money being used to buy savings bonds. Bank of America returned the funds to Overton's account. The monies were separate from an account that holds GoFundMe donations that help pay for Overton's round-the-clock care.
