31 mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile across Austin

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Public Health announced Friday that a total of 31 mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile Virus so far this season.

So far, positive tests have come back for pools in the following zip codes:

  • 78728
  • 78754
  • 78731
  • 78756
  • 78751
  • 78722
  • 78721
  • 78701
  • 78704

"While COVID-19 is at the forefront of everyone's minds, we need to remember the many other diseases that are commonly present in our community, including West Nile Virus," said Austin Public Health's Janet Pichette.

So far, three probable human cases of West Nile have been identified. Last year, there were no cases or positive mosquito pools in Travis County.
