AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Five people died in two separate crashes across the metro area Sunday night, according to first responders.

The first crash happened in east Travis County at Colfax Drive and North Imperial Drive, near FM 969 & Decker Lane, around 9 p.m. Sunday evening. Austin-Travis County EMS says two adult males died on the scene, with STAR Flight transporting a woman in her 20s to a nearby hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. Another woman in her 20s and a pediatric patient were also transported to area hospitals; a sixth person refused treatment.

In a separate incident, Round Rock Police say a three-car crash killed three people on FM 1431 just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Four other people were injured in that crash, but no details have been released. FM 1431 remained closed for much of the overnight hours as police investigated the crash.
