AUSTIN (KJCE) -- Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will deliver his biennial State of the State address Tuesday.

In the address, Abbot will lay out his legislative priorities for the session - including a list of "emergency items" that he wishes for lawmakers to prioritize. Legislation can't be brought up on the House or Senate floor in the first 60 days of the legislative session unless it is one of the governor's emergency items.

Sanctuary cities, ethics reform, the state's child welfare system, and passing a resolution to support a convention of states were among Abbott's emergency items in 2017.

Property tax reform and the state's school finance system are widely expected to be on Abbott's agenda.

The address begins at 11 a.m. at the Capitol. Listen LIVE when it happens on 1370AM, 95.5 HD2,, and on the RADIO.COM app.
