AUSTIN ( -- An arrest has been made in the murder of a southeast Austin game room employee earlier this month.

Austin Police say 25-year old Stephen Alvarado was arrested Wednesday by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in connection with the murder of Desmond Herrera on September 4.

Herrera was found with obvious trauma to his body in a ditch in the 3600 block of Chapman Lane around 8:30 p.m. on September 4, and was later pronounced deceased on the scene. Police say he was an employee of a nearby gaming room.

Alvarado is currently being held at the Travis County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
