AUSTIN (KJCE) -- And now we have a name.

Austin's future Major League Soccer franchise will be known as the Austin FC, the team revealed Wednesday night.

Team colors will be green, white, and black.

The team's logo features two intertwined live oak trees with four roots symbolizing all of Austin; the tree has 11 leaves, representing the 11 players on the pitch.

Austin City Council voted 7-4 last week to approve a proposal allowing Precourt Sports Ventures, owner of the Columbus Crew SC, to build a 20,000-seat Major League Soccer stadium on city-owned land near The Domain in North Austin.

The team could begin playing in Austin as early as next spring in temporary quarters; the stadium itself isn't expected to be ready until the 2021 MLS season. The move of the Columbus Crew itself still has some legal hurdles; a hearing in Ohio in a lawsuit challenging the team's departure is set for early September.
