AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- As Austinites continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, Talk 1370 and our RADIO.COM family of stations are teaming up with other media outlets across Central Texas for an all-day digital telethon on Friday, April 3 benefiting All Together ATX.

As of 9 p.m. Friday, more than $3.3 million had been raised in the effort.

All Together ATX is a community-led philanthropic fund created out of a partnership between the Austin Community Foundation and the United Way for Greater Austin.

"Many individuals and families in Central Texas were already struggling with economic, social and health hardships before the COVID-19 outbreak shook our community, and this crisis will only widen the opportunity gap," said Mike Nellis, CEO of the Austin Community Foundation. "I’m so grateful for the efforts of our media partners to get the word out about All Together ATX so our entire community can participate in lifting up our neighbors in need."

Funds raised from the effort will be distributed to local organizations working with people disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and the economic consequences of the outbreak. Funds will be distributed in a phased approach, focused first on the most affected and later on long-term recovery and sustainability for the nonprofit sector.

"For nearly 100 years, United Way for Greater Austin has been dedicated to those in our community who are suffering and creating opportunity for all people, children and families," said David C. Smith, CEO of United Way for Greater Austin. "We are looking to make a real difference and with the help of our media partners, I know we can lessen the negative impact in Austin as this pandemic infects every part of our way of life."

In addition to the RADIO.COM family of stations - Talk 1370Mix 94.7, Majic 95.5, and HOT 95.9 - other media outlets participating in the effort include the Austin American-Statesman, Austin Business Journal, Austin Radio Network, Giving City Austin, KLRU, Fox 7 Austin, KUT, KVUE, and KXAN.
