Austin Police identify victim in murder on city's northeast side

Investigators looking for possible multiple suspects

AUSTIN (KJCE) -- Police have identified the victim in a deadly Tuesday afternoon shooting on the city's northeast side.

Police say 26-year old Joshua Hardesty was shot and killed at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of East Parmer Lane, near the intersection of Parmer and Dessau Road. Hardesty was found in the parking lot of the complex, after several 911 callers reported hearing shots fired.

A white dog believed to belong to Hardesty remained with him until picked up by animal protection officers.

The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy this morning and ruled the incident a homicide.
