AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Barton Springs Pool will re-open next week, but regular users of the popular swimming hole will notice some changes due to COVID-19.

City officials say the pool will re-open to the public on June 9. Admission will be free while these modified operations are in effect, but online reservations will be required.

The pool will be open for "swim at your own risk" daily from 5 a.m. until 7 a.m., then closed at 7 a.m. for cleaning.

On Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the pool will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. for "guarded swim." Reservations will be good for a two-hour period, and the facility will be cleared 15 minutes prior to the end of each reservation period for cleaning and disinfection.

All guests will be screened prior to entering, with screenings beginning 30 minutes before the reservation's start time. Face coverings are required when not actively swimming.

Anyone who has previously purchased a swim pass for Summer 2020 that would like a refund can send an email to aquaticsoffice@austintexas.gov.

More details are available on the City's website.
