AUSTIN (KJCE) -- Travis County officials confirmed Wednesday that the body found in Lake Austin earlier this week is that of a 25-year old Minneapolis man who was in town for the Austin City Limits music festival.

Christopher Jay White was last seen on October 6 at a residence in the 3225 block of Smoky Ridge Drive, between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m.

Friends told investigators that White mentioned that he might want to go down to the dock, but none of them actually saw White leave the residence.

Travis County Sheriff's Office deputies, along with teams from the Austin Police Department, Travis County Search and Rescue, and Texas Parks and Wildlife conducted grid searches of both land and water throughout the weekend and into Monday. Around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, a 9-1-1 caller reported seeing a body floating in the lake. Dive teams recovered the body and the medical examiner positively identified the body as White.

The investigation into the cause and manner of death is still pending, but officials say there is no evidence of foul play.
