Boil water notice issued for some Georgetown Utility water customers

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KJCE) -- A water pump failure is affecting some rural Williamson County water customers served by the Georgetown Utility System, resulting in a boil water notice being issued for the area due to reduced water pressure.

Affected residents are being asked to stop outdoor water use and any other unnecessary water usage until Thursday. Repairs to the pump may take up to two weeks to complete.

The outage reportedly impacts about 1400 customers along State Highway 29, west of US 183 but east of County Road 201. Residents in the following subdivisions are affected:

  • Bear Creek Ranch
  • Bridle Gate
  • Carriage Oaks Estates
  • Cierra Springs
  • Cierra Vista
  • Clearwater Ranch
  • Estates At Northgate
  • Hidden Meadows Of Liberty Hill
  • Hilltop At Stable Oaks
  • Indian Oak Estates
  • Liberty Hill RV Park
  • Northwest Acres
  • Phillip Lane Estates
  • Quarry Lake Estates
  • Rolling Hills
  • Stage Coach Hill
  • Stone House Estates
  • Stonewall Ranch
  • Sundance Estates
  • Sundance Ranch
  • Sunny Hill Mobile Home Park
  • Sunrise Acres

Some of the affected customers have been without water service since Saturday.
