COVID-19 By The Numbers, August 13: Travis County reports 15 deaths

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Here are the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials from across Central Texas, for August 13:

Travis County: 297 new cases and 15 new deaths were reported Thursday by Austin Public Health, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 23,718 with 328 deaths. An estimated 22,255 cases have recovered, leaving 1,135 active cases - an increase of 96 from Wednesday.

263 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area, a decrease of 12 from Wednesday - with 92 in intensive care and 65 on ventilators.

32 new hospital admissions were reported on Thursday, with the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations now at 33.

Williamson County: 73 new cases and 1 new death were reported Thursday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 7,148 with 99 deaths. 1,351 cases are estimated to be active - an increase of 60 from Wednesday. 75 patients are currently hospitalized - a decrease of 4 from Wednesday - with 31 in intensive care and 15 on ventilators.

Hays County: 20 new cases and 1 new death were reported Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 5,103 with 38 deaths. 2,392 cases have recovered, leaving 2,673 active cases - a decrease of 27 from Wednesday. 18 patients are hospitalized, the same as Wednesday.

Bastrop County: 19 new cases and 1 new death were reported Thursday by DSHS, bringing the total number of cases to 1,409 with 23 deaths.

Caldwell County: 8 new cases and 1 new death were reported Thursday by DSHS, bringing the total number of cases to 1,171 with 29 deaths.

State of Texas: 6,755 new cases were reported Thursday across the state, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 513,575. 255 new fatalities were reported, bringing the total to 9,289. The 7-day positivity rate dropped to 16.08%. A total of 6,879 Texans are hospitalized across the state, a decrease of 149 from Wednesday.
