Texas passes 3,000 deaths, 10,000 active hospitalizations

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- We're following the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials across Central Texas, for July 10:

Travis County: 440 new cases were reported Friday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 14,304. 7 new deaths were reported, bringing the death toll in Travis County to 166. An estimated 10,792 cases have recovered, leaving 3,346 active cases - a decrease of 45 from Thursday's report.

438 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area - a decrease of 2 from Thursday. 133 are in intensive care and 88 are on ventilators.

70 new admissions were reported on Friday, with the 7-day moving average of new admissions decreasing again to 66.

Williamson County: 37 new cases were reported Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,654. One new death was reported, for a total of 51. There are currently 103 patients hospitalized, with 32 in intensive care and 16 on a ventilator.

Hays County: 92 new cases were reported Friday, pushing the total number of cases to 3,501. 2,835 of those are active - an increase of 43 from Thursday - with 655 recoveries and 11 deaths. 20 patients are hospitalized, the same as Thursday.

Bastrop County: 25 new cases were reported Friday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 650. 160 cases are reported as recovered with 8 deaths.

Caldwell County: According to DSHS data, 24 new cases were reported Friday, for a total of 604 confirmed cases.

State of Texas: 9,765 new cases were reported Friday statewide, pushing the total number of cases to 240,111. Texas crossed the 3,000 mark in deaths Friday, with 95 new deaths pushing the total to 3,013. Hospitalizations crossed the 10,000 mark statewide, with 313 new hospitalizations pushing the statewide total to 10,002.
