COVID-19 By The Numbers, July 3: 314 new cases in Travis County

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- We're following the latest updates from local health officials on the coronavirus, for July 3:

Travis County: 314 new cases and 1 new death were reported Friday afternoon by Austin Public Health, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 11,009 and 134 deaths. 8,007 of the cases are estimated to be recovered, leaving 2,868 active cases - a decrease of 109 from Thursday.

418 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area, an increase of 3 from Thursday. 151 patients are in intensive care and 66 are on ventilators. 65 new admissions were reported Friday, bringing the 7-day moving average of new admissions to 59.1.

Williamson County: 3 new deaths and 81 new cases were reported Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 2,469. 1,390 of those are active, an increase of 48 from Thursday, with 42 deaths and 972 recoveries. 102 patients are hospitalized in the county, a decrease of 5 from Thursday, with 32 in intensive care and 11 on ventilators.

Hays County: 17 new cases were reported on Friday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,067.

Bastrop County: 11 new cases were reported Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 453. Recoveries are steady at 156 with 6 deaths.

Caldwell County: 6 new cases were reported by DSHS Friday, bringing the total to 383 cases.

State of Texas: 7,555 new cases were reported Friday, pushing the statewide total to 183,532. Across the state, 50 new deaths were reported, bringing the total to 2,575. 270 new hospitalizations were reported Friday, pushing the statewide total to another record high of 7,652.
