AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Here are the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials from across Central Texas, for July 31:

Travis County: 280 new cases and 8 new deaths were reported Friday by Austin Public Health, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 20,745 with 274 deaths. An estimated 18,292 cases have recovered, leaving 2,179 active cases - an increase of 24 from Thursday.

338 patients are hospitalized across the five county metro area - a decrease of 17 from Thursday - with 127 patients in intensive care and 83 on ventilators.

32 new admissions were reported Friday, with the 7-day moving average of new admissions now at 37.7.

Williamson County: 99 new cases were reported Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 5,715 with 76 deaths. 4,982 cases are estimated to be recovered, leaving 559 active cases - an increase of 9 from Thursday. 69 patients are hospitalized, with 39 in intensive care and 21 on ventilators.

Hays County: 18 new cases were reported Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,315 with 28 deaths. There are 2,861 active cases - a decrease of 35 from Thursday. 26 patients are hospitalized.

Bastrop County: 12 new cases were reported by DSHS Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,289. 775 cases are estimated to be recovered, with 18 deaths, leaving 496 active cases - a decrease of 1 from Thursday.

Caldwell County: 8 new cases were reported by DSHS Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,064. 675 cases are estimated to be recovered, with 23 deaths, leaving 366 active cases - a decrease of 12 from Thursday.

State of Texas: 8,839 new cases were reported Friday statewide, bringing the total number of cases to 420,946. 295 new fatalities were reported across the state Friday, bringing the total number of deaths to 6,569. 9,336 hospitalizations were reported statewide, an increase of 40 from Thursday.
