COVID-19 By The Numbers, June 2: Travis County adds 73 new cases

AUSTIN ( -- Here are the latest updates from local health departments around the area on the coronavirus pandemic:

Travis County: Austin Public Health reported 73 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,433. 1,296 of those are considered to be recovered, an increase of 79 from Monday. No new deaths were reported for a fourth day, with the count at 93. The 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations continues to move upward slightly, now at 10.9. Five-county hospitalizations are at 97, with 41 in intensive care and 21 on ventilators.

Williamson County: 6 new confirmed cases brings the total number to 636. Officials say 412 of those are considered to be recovered. 10 patients are hospitalized, with 4 in intensive care and 3 on a ventilator. As of Monday, just under 11,000 tests have been completed in the county, with the positivity rate holding steady at 6%.

Hays County: 18 new confirmed cases brings the total number for Hays County to 371. 8 patients are hospitalized. 4,367 tests have been conducted, which roughly equates to a 9% positivity rate.

Bastrop County: 8 new cases were reported Tuesday, bringing the total number to 219.

State of Texas: 1,688 new confirmed cases were reported across the state Tuesday, pushing the total to 66,568. 20 new fatalities were reported for a total of 1,698.
