COVID-19 By The Numbers, June 29: 4 deaths, 508 new cases in Travis County

    AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- We're following the latest coronavirus updates from across Central Texas, for June 29:

    Travis County: 508 new cases and four new deaths were reported Monday by Austin Public Health, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 8,969. 6,117 of those are recovered, with 121 deaths leaving 2,731 active cases - an increase of 113 from Sunday. Hospitalizations across the five county metro area are up to 368, an increase 17 from Sunday, with 121 in intensive care and 65 on ventilators.

    48 new patients were admitted into area hospitals Monday, bringing the 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations up slightly to 53.4.

    Williamson County: Two new deaths were reported Monday, alongside 81 new cases. Officials say a man in his 40s and a man in his 80s are the latest to die from the disease. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 2,100, leaving 1,165 active with 863 recoveries and 37 deaths. WilCo is reporting 82 patients in its hospitals, an increase of 3 from Sunday, with 25 in intensive care and 9 on ventilators.

    Hays County: 75 new cases were reported on Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,661. 2,233 of those are active, with 422 recoveries and 6 deaths. Hays County is reporting 19 hospitalizations, a decrease of 2 from Sunday.

    Bastrop County: 20 new cases were reported Monday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 436. 155 of those are recovered, with 6 deaths leaving 275 active cases.

    Caldwell County: DSHS reported 25 new cases Monday, for a total of 332 cases.

    State of Texas: 4,283 new cases were reported Monday across the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases statewide to 153,011. 10 new deaths were reported Monday, bringing the total to 2,403. 416 new hospitalizations were reported, pushing the total number of hospitalized Texans up to 5,913.
