COVID-19 By The Numbers, June 3: Travis County reports 2 new deaths

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Here are the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials across Central Texas Wednesday:

Travis County: 2 new deaths were reported Wednesday, alongside 68 new confirmed cases. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in Travis County to 3,501, with the number of deaths now at 95. 1,380 of the cases are considered to be recovered, which is an increase of 84 from Tuesday's update. The 7-day moving average of new hospitalizations is continuing to move upward, now at 11.4 with 16 new admissions Wednesday. Across the five county metro area, total hospitalizations are at 98, with 39 in intensive care and 21 on ventilators.

Williamson County: 13 new confirmed cases were reported Wednesday, pushing the total to 649. 424 of those are considered to be recovered. 11 patients are hospitalized, with 4 in intensive care and 3 on a ventilator. As of Tuesday, 11,840 tests have been conducted, dropping the positivity rate to 5%.

Hays County: 14 new confimed cases were reported Wednesday, bringing the total number to 385. 212 of those are considered to be recovered. 6 patients are hospitalized, with 4,589 tests conducted (including tests with pending results).

Bastrop County: Another 8 new cases were reported Wednesday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 227. 90 of those are considered to be recovered.

State of Texas: DSHS reported 1,703 new cases Wednesday, for a total of 68,271. 36 new deaths were reported, bringing the total to 1,734.
