AUSTIN ( -- Here are the latest coronavirus updates from local health officials across Central Texas for Friday, June 5:

Travis County: Austin Public Health reported two new deaths Friday, bringing the total to 97. 64 new confirmed cases brings the total number of confirmed cases to 3,616. 2,996 of those are now recovered, an increase of 79 from Thursday. 13 new hospitalizations were reported Friday across the five county metro area, with the 7-day moving average ticking down slightly to 11.8. 88 patients in total are hospitalized with 37 in intensive care and 22 on a ventilator.

Williamson County: 12 new cases brings the total number of confirmed cases in Williamson County to 672, 441 of which are recovered. The county continues to have 8 patients hospitalized, with 4 in intensive care and 3 on ventilators. Just under 400 tests were reported on Thursday, for a total of 12,644 with a 5% positivity rate.

Hays County: 9 new cases in Hays County pushes the total number of confirmed cases to 398, 238 of which are considered to be recovered. 6 patients remain hospitalized.

Bastrop County: 5 new confirmed cases Friday pushes the total for Bastrop County to 239, wiht 95 recoveries.

State of Texas: DSHS reported 1,693 new cases on Friday, pushing the total above the 70,000 mark to 71,613. 21 new deaths were reported Friday, bringing the total to 1,788.
