COVID-19 By The Numbers, May 31: Travis County adds 40 new cases

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Local coronavirus numbers showed positive trends for the second day in a row Sunday.

Travis County: Austin Public Health reported 40 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Sunday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,272. 1,168 of those are considered to be recovered, an increase of 16 from Friday. No new deaths were reported for the second straight day, leaving the count at 93. The 7-day moving average of hospitalizations is down to 7.1, with the total number of five-county hospitalizations at 79 with 35 in intensive care and 18 on ventilators.

Williamson County: 9 new confirmed cases were reported Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 621. 391 of those are considered to be recovered, an increase of 8 from Saturday. Wilco's hospitalization stats remain steady, with 9 patients hospitalized, 5 in intensive care, and 4 on a ventilator.

Hays County: 6 new confirmed cases were reported Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 335. Three new recoveries were reported, for a total of 184. 4 patients remain hospitalized.

Bastrop County: No new confirmed cases were reported Sunday, leaving the total number at 204.

State of Texas: 1,949 new confirmed cases were reported Sunday, pushing the total number of cases across the state to 64,287. 24 new deaths were reported, with the total now at 1,672. 42,423 of the cases are estimated to be recovered.
