(Talk1370.com) -- A week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order requiring travelers from Louisiana to self-quarantine for 14 days, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are stepping up enforcement along the border.

DPS said Sunday it was setting up screening stations in counties along the border to gather the necessary forms required under Abbott's order.

In a message on its website, DPS says it will "vigorously" enforce the executive orders.

Travelers not entering the state for commercial, medical, military, critical infrastructure, or other designated purposes are required to fill out a form designating an address where they will quarantine themselves, either for 14 days or the length of their stay in Texas if shorter.
