AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Early voting is now under way for the March 3 primary elections.

Winners of the primary elections will move on to the general election on Tuesday, November 3.

Travis County residents can find polling locations, wait times, sample ballots, and more at VoteTravis.com. There's also details on the county's new voting equipment, which many voters will be using for the first time this election season.

Details for other counties in the metro area can be found here:

Early voting runs through Friday, February 28; Texas is part of the "Super Tuesday" slate of primaries with Election Day set for Tuesday, March 3. If candidates advance to a runoff election, that will be on Tuesday, May 26.

When casting your ballot, you'll be asked whether you are voting in the Republican or Democratic primary. You can only cast a ballot in one primary, not both - including a runoff election, if necessary.

To cast a ballot, you will need one of these seven types of photo identification, per Texas' Voter ID law:

    • A state driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
    • A Texas election identification certificate (issued by DPS)
    • A Texas personal identification card (issued by DPS)
    • A Texas license to carry a handgun (issued by DPS)
    • A U.S. military ID card that includes a personal photo
    • A U.S. citizenship certificate that includes a personal photo
    • A U.S. passport

If you don't have one of those seven types of identification, you can still cast a ballot. You will have to sign a form swearing a "reasonable impediment" that prevents you from obtaining the appropriate identification. If you are claiming the impediment, you will need one of these types of identification:

    • Valid voter registration certificate
    • Certified birth certificate
    • A current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other document that shows the voter’s name and address (any government document that contains a voter’s photo must be an original)

On Super Tuesday, Talk 1370 will have complete coverage of results from across the nation, across the state, and here in Austin - on-air, on the RADIO.COM app, and here on Talk1370.com.
