EMS responds to multiple serious incidents across city Saturday afternoon

AUSTIN (KJCE) -- First responders had their hands full Saturday afternoon, responding to multiple critical injury incidents within a few minutes of each other.

In the first reported incident, Austin-Travis County EMS says gun shots were reported in the 1700 block of Saracen Road, off of Cuernavaca north of Bee Caves Road in west Austin around 4:53 p.m. Medics transported a male in his 20s to South Austin Medical Center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries; a male in his late teens was also transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a separate incident minutes later, gun shots were reported in the 1070 block of Mearns Meadow Boulevard, near Rundberg Lane and North Lamar around 5:04 p.m. Medics pronounced a male in his 20s dead on the scene. Officials say there are no other patients at the scene.

A third incident, a stabbing, was reported at North Lamar Boulevard and Rundberg Lane around 5:20 p.m. Medics reported one patient with injuries not expected to be life-threatening.
