LEANDER (Talk1370.com) -- Williamson County officials are planning to offer free coronavirus testing this weekend in Leander.

Testing will be offered Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. at the Leander Extended Opportunity building at 300 South West Drive. Tests will be available until 1 p.m., or until supplies run out.

Any Texas resident can receive a test, whether they reside in Williamson County or not. The testing is a partnership between the Williamson County Office of Emergency Management, the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and the City of Leander.

No appointments will be required. People interested in getting tested will be asked to park and line up for their turn. It is important to note that this is a cheek swab test, so people cannot eat, drink, or use tobacco products 20 minutes prior to the test

Residents should bring a cell phone for on-site registration. Those seeking a test should bring a form of shade to cover from the sun, such as a hat or umbrella.
