WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- Free COVID-19 testing will take place in Hutto next week, Williamson County officials announced Thursday.

Testing will be offered at the Hutto Fire Rescue Station at 501 Exchange Boulevard beginning Tuesday, September 22, and running through Thursday, September 24, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily while supplies last.

No appointments are required, and all Texans can receive a test - you do not have to be a Williamson County resident. Because the site will be using a cheek swab test, those seeking a test should avoid eating, drinking, or using tobacco products for 20 minutes prior to the test.

Officials advise those seeking tests to bring a cell phone for on-site registration, and there may be a wait due to demand.

The testing is a partnership between the Williamson County Office of Emergency Management, the Texas Division of Emergency Management, and Hutto's Fire Rescue/Emergency Services District 3.
