AUSTIN (KJCE) -- An arctic cold front has brought a taste of winter to Austin, with the area's first freeze coming.

Gusty north winds and arctic air moved in Monday, dropping temperatures into the 30s.

While much of the Hill Country saw a light freeze Monday night, temperatures in the I-35 corridor hovered just above the freezing mark. A Freeze Warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. this morning for the I-35 corridor and points westward.

Another Freeze Warning has been issued for Tuesday night into Wednesday, where temperatures in the Hill Country are expected to dip into the lower 20s and the I-35 corridor will drop to the upper 20s.

Temperatures are again expected to drop below freezing Wednesday night into Thursday, before rebounding into the weekend.
