Heat advisory for Wednesday afternoon as triple digit streak continues

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Triple-digit heat will continue Wednesday as heat indexes soar to near 110 degrees.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for Wednesday afternoon, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m...

We'll start off Wednesday partly cloudy before turning sunny in the afternoon, with a forecast high around 104. South winds 10 to 15 mph; heat index readings could reach up to 110 in the peak of the afternoon along and east of the I-35 corridor.

We could tie or even break the record high at Austin's airport, where the record is 104 degrees, set back in 2009. Camp Mabry's record for today is 106 degrees, set back in 1923.

THURSDAY: Sunny. Highs around 104. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

FRIDAY: Sunny. Highs around 104. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Clear. Lows in the mid 70s.

SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY: Mostly clear. Highs 100-105. Lows in the mid 70s.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 70s.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 100.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 70s.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 90s.
