Heat advisory issued as heat wave continues

In effect Wednesday from noon until 7pm

August 07, 2019 - 8:00 am

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A Heat Advisory will be in effect Wednesday afternoon as our latest heat wave builds in across Central Texas.

The National Weather Service says the advisory will be in effect from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Air temperatures are forecast to reach 103 degrees in Austin; combined with humidity, that will push heat index values up to near 110 degrees.

If you have to be outside, make sure you stay hydrated, wear loose-fitting clothing, and take frequent breaks out of the sun.

Additional heat advisories are expected Thursday and through the weekend. Forecasters say there's little hope for relief any time soon, with the long-range outlook indicating hotter than normal weather with little chances for rain.
