AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Some of the hottest weather of the year will give way to a chance for severe weather late Sunday, forecasters say.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been posted for the entire Austin metro area until 10 p.m. Sunday...

A strong cold front will approach from the north, combining with the afternoon's extreme heat and humidity to fuel thunderstorms. The city of Austin, and points north and west have been placed under an Enhanced risk (3/5) for severe thunderstorms by the Storm Prediction Center; the remainder of the area south and east of Austin are under a Slight risk (2/5).

Earlier Sunday, the same storms moving through the Dallas-Fort Worth area caused a crane to collapse, killing at least one person.
