AUSTIN (KJCE) -- With widespread flooding occuring in the Highland Lakes and in the Hill Country, LCRA officials say floodgate operations will begin at Mansfield and Tom Miller Dams at noon Tuesday.

Officials say four gates are expected to be opened through the course of the afternoon at Mansfield, roughly one gate every two hours.

LCRA has closed the entire Highland Lakes chain until further notice due to dangerous conditions, including swift and fast-rising waters.

Floodgate operations are also underway upstream at Starcke, Wirtz, and Inks Dams.
