AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One of the largest motorcycle bike rallies in the country is back in Austin this weekend, and officials are reminding you to watch out on the roads.

The annual Republic of Texas Rally returns to the Travis County Expo Center beginning Thursday and running through Sunday.

With a heavy abundance of motorcycles expected to be all across Austin this weekend, officials remind drivers to look twice and check blind spots for motorcycles as you travel. More than 30,000 bikers are expected to attend the event.

In addition to events at the Expo Center, some downtown streets will see closures Friday night for a bike parade. Congress Avenue from Cesar Chavez to 11th Street, and side streets of Congress between Brazos and Colorado will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday until midnight; Sixth Street will also be closed from Red River to Congress from 7:30 p.m. until 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

The parade will begin Friday night at 7:45 p.m. from the Expo Center, traveling across East MLK, Springdale Road, Pleasant Valley, 11th Street, and other neighborhood streets on their way to downtown.

Austin Police will also be conducting a "No Refusal" initiative, running from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
