LAKEWAY, Texas (KJCE) -- A man working underwater on Lake Travis died Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the 700 block of Hurst Creek Road in Lakeway around 1 p.m. Thursday. First responders were able to pull the man from the water and performed CPR for over 30 minutes, but were unsuccessful in resuscitating him.

Travis County officials on Friday identified the man as 38-year old Sebastian Medina-Page of Round Rock, who was working underwater to repair a broken pump for a private residence.

While the investigation is ongoing, officials say the evidence indicates a "significant tangle" in the line that Medina-Page was tethered to.
