UPDATE: Man shot on South Congress died, police say

(Austin/KJCE) Officials are working a shooting on South Congress Friday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS reported the call just after 7:00 a.m. They say a man in his 50s was shot at 611 South Congress, just south of Riverside. He was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge with critical, life-threatening injuries.

Police say they received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired. The shooting happened in the back parking lot of the Congress Square II office building. A suspect remains at large and has not been identified, but police do believe the shooting was not random.
