AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- This year's MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas, originally slated for April 5 at Circuit of The Americas, has been postponed.

The circuit made the announcement Tuesday morning. The event will now be staged the weekend of November 15.

In a statement, COTA officials cited international travel concerns in postponing the event. "An international event of this sort presents logistics concerns, travel commitments, and significant advance planning," the statement said.

MotoGP's season has been troubled by the global coronavirus outbreak. The first two races of the season, in Qatar and Thailand, were already postponed, which would have made Austin the season opener; now, barring further schedule changes, the season is set to open on April 19 in Argentina.

Tickets purchased will remain valid for the November event, though COTA says it will honor any refund requests.
