AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A new highway flyover will open this weekend in eastern Travis County, improving mobility for users of State Highway 130 and U.S. Highway 290.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority says a new flyover connecting northbound SH 130 to westbound U.S. 290 will open on Saturday. The flyover is the second to be constructed as a part of the 290/130 Flyovers Project.

A flyover connecting southbound SH 130 to westbound US 290 opened in January. Both flyovers will carry a toll, with construction paid for by toll revenue bonds and a federal TIFIA loan.

A third flyover to be constructed in the project, which will connect eastbound US 290 to southbound SH 130, will be financed by TxDOT and will not be tolled.

Construction on the $127 million project began in early 2019, with the entire project expected to wrap up in 2021.
