Officials say an initial search for Rangel in the area where his vehicle was found turned up nothing.

According to his family, Rangel has recently been experiencing mental health episodes and has lost considerable weight; accordingly, Rangel's current appearance will be thinner than the photographs shown above.

Rangel is described as 5' 9" tall, with black hair and brown eyes. It is estimated that he currently weighs approximately 130 pounds. Officials have no details as to what clothing he was wearing when he disappeared.

Anyone with information on Rangel is asked to call the Hays County Sheriff's Office at (512) 393-7814, or Hays County Crime Stoppers at (800) 324-8477.
