Police ask for info on man found dead in Shoal Creek downtown

AUSTIN (KJCE) -- Austin Police are asking for the public's help in the case of a man found dead in Shoal Creek downtown last week.

Police say 48-year old Randy Alan Lexvold was found in Shoal Creek near the 800 block of West 6th Street on December 7 around 8:45 a.m., after a witness flagged down officers.

Lexvold was in town to watch his daughter's swim meet at the University of Texas, according to police.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's office is still working to identify a cause of death of Lexvold.

Homicide investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Lexvold in the nearby area early on the morning of December 7, or anyone with information connected to the case, to contact the Homicide Tip Line at (512) 477-3588, or Travis County Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS.

Lexvold is described as:

  • White male
  • 48 years old
  • 6’ 1”
  • 200 lbs.
  • Dark blonde hair
  • Blue eyes
  • Tattoo on right shoulder
  • Last seen wearing a black jacket, black Pink Floyd t-shirt, Gap 1969 jeans and blue Merrill trail shoes
