AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police are investigating after a dead body was found at a reported shooting on the city's north side Monday night.

Austin Police say they were called to an apartment complex in the 7000 block of Grand Canyon Drive, just west of Cameron Road around 11 p.m. Monday. Police say someone called 9-1-1 saying they were being shot at and needed help.

When officers arrived, they found a woman dead and a man with injuries. Police later identified the woman as 38-year-old Elvi Vanessa Cervantes-De La Torre. Both victims had obvious signs of trauma to the body; the man was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police say witnesses told them a large group of Hispanic males were drinking in the parking lot when an altercation occurred. After the shooting, the group split into two, leaving in a black sedan and a maroon or red pickup truck.

With the help of witnesses, police are now looking for two suspects. The first is described as a Hispanic male, standing approximately 5' 5", believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s with a chunky build, a trimmed beard, and wearing a yellow construction vest, grey baseball cap, and white and orange striped shirt. The second is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5' 4", believed to be in his mid 30s with a mustache, a beer belly, and was last seen wearing a long-sleeve green shirt, light-colored jeans, and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call APD's homicide tip line at (512) 477-3588.
