Police investigating suspicious death in south Austin

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities are investigating a suspicious death in south Austin Wednesday morning, in what will be the city's 41st homicide of the year.

First responders were called to the 2600 block of South 1st Street, just south of Oltorf, shortly after 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

When police arrived, they found an unresponsive male. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced deceased at 6:56 a.m.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's office will be conducting an autopsy to determine an official cause of death. Police said due to the early stage of the investigation, few other details can be released right now.
