Police: One dead in east Austin crash early Saturday

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- One person is dead after a crash on the city's east side early Saturday morning.

Austin Police say the crash happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Oak Springs Drive and Airport Boulevard.

Police say two vehicles were involved, but it's not clear what led to the accident. A man was transported to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

It's the city's 31st traffic fatality of the year. Friday morning, Austin Police chief Brian Manley TTraffic fatalities in Austin are up for 2019, police say, urging the public to do their part to drive safely on Austin's roads.
