Police seeking information in south Austin homicide

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police are seeking the public's help in a weekend homicide in south Austin.

Police say a 911 call came from the 3600 block of Southridge Drive, at the Bainbridge Villas apartment complex, just after 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning. The caller reported a man down inside the grounds. When first responders arrived, they found 32-year old Guillermo Bernal Gomez with "injuries incompatible with life". He was pronounced deceased on the scene just before 3 a.m.

According to police, detectives are still trying to determine if this homicide was random or if the victim knew his assailant. Interviews with witnesses are continuing, and an autopsy by the Travis County Medical Examiner's office is pending.
