AUSTIN (KJCE) -- Progress on another construction project along Interstate 35 will lead to some possible delays Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Weather permitting, crews will be working to place beams for a new turnaround bridge at St. Johns Avenue, prompting a rolling closure of the I-35 mainlanes.

Beginning at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, northbound lanes will be reduced between U.S. 290 and U.S. 183 with rolling closures beginning at 11 p.m. Traffic will remain on the mainlanes throughout the process, but speeds will be greatly reduced.

The same process will repeat itself on Wednesday night in the southbound lanes. Entrance ramps from Rundberg Lane and the flyover from U.S. 183 will be closed as well.

TxDOT officials say road signs will be placed to alert drivers of the closures, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, as delays are expected.
