HAYS COUNTY (KJCE) -- A San Marcos man was arrested Wednesday after making a threat to 9-1-1.

Hays County Sheriff's officials say 35-year old Chance Bandy of San Marcos called 9-1-1 at 9:26 a.m. Wednesday morning, asking to talk to a detective or a sergeant. When the 9-1-1 dispatcher asked him some questions to find out more details and to verify what he needed, he got agitated and then threatened to "bomb the jail".

Following the threat, the Sheriff’s Office and the County Jail went into lockout and assistance was requested from the San Marcos Police Department and the Austin Police Department Bomb Squad.

After a thorough check of the Sheriff’s Office parking lots and buildings, an all-clear was given and the lockdown was lifted.

Deputies located Bandy at his residence in San Marcos and place him under arrest for Terroristic Threat, a Class B misdemeanor. Bandy was transported to the Hays County Jail where he remains incarcerated until he is magistrated by a judge.
