South Austin middle school evacuated after gas odor
AUSTIN (KJCE) -- A South Austin middle school was evacuated early Tuesday afternoon after a gas odor was reported at the school.
Austin-Travis County EMS responded to Paredes Middle School at 10100 South Mary Moore Searight around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Early reports indicated as many as 15 patients may have been affected; in the end, ATCEMS says only one patient was evaluated and that patient refused treatment.
EMS cleared the scene just after 2:30 p.m. and normal operations resumed at the campus.
UPDATE 10100 S Mary Moore Searight Paredes Middle School reported gas odor: Total of 3 #ATCEMS ambulances, 1 Commander & 1 Division Chief on-scene or responding. Initial reports of 3 patients for evaluation have grown to 15 patients for evaluation. More information to follow.
