ROUND ROCK, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- Round Rock ISD officials said they'll be closing the Stony Point High School campus due to positive COVID-19 cases.

Students will continue remote learning through November 30, with the campus set to re-open on December 1. That includes the district's previously scheduled closure all next week for the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to the district's coronavirus dashboard, as of November 13, a total of 28 positive cases and 326 close contacts had been reported at the campus.

Extracurricular activities will be suspended while the campus is closed, district officials said.

Stony Point is the second Austin metro high school to temporarily close due to COVID-19. Austin ISD shut down Austin High School this week following a "gradual but steady" rise in COVID-19 cases.

Round Rock ISD officials say the campus will be deep cleaned during the closure, and sanitized using hospital-grade disinfectants.

More information can be found at the district's website, www.RoundRockISD.org.
