Strong, severe storms roll through Central Texas

AUSTIN ( -- Warm temperatures and lots of sun Sunday afternoon gave way to strong to severe storms late Sunday.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch for all of the Austin area until 3 AM Monday morning...

Just before noon Sunday, the Storm Prediction Center increased the severe weather risk for all of the Austin area - placing the area under an enhanced risk, the third of five levels forecast. Storms began to roll in around 9 p.m. Sunday night, prompting a number of severe thunderstorm warnings and even a Flash Flood Warning for parts of the area.

The severe weather is expected to exit the area by the morning rush hour; chances of a stray shower continue through the day on Monday.
