AUSTIN ( -- The surviving suspect in a home invasion earlier this month is now facing murder charges for the deaths of his accomplices, according to court documents.

30-year-old Octaviano Rodriguez is facing murder charges for his involvement in the February 18 incident in northeast Austin in the 5400 block of East Parmer Lane.

According to an affidavit, Rodriguez, 30-year old Casaundra Hernandez and 29-year old Emilio Maisonet made their way into the apartment in what police believe was an attempt to steal drugs and money.

Rodriguez put a gun to the victim's head; a second victim was able to grab a gun from a bedroom and fire at the suspects. Officers found Maisonet dead inside the apartment, while Hernandez was found unresponsive in a nearby breezeway and was pronounced deceased. Rodriguez had a gunshot wound in his leg and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

One of the residents later identified Rodriguez in a police lineup.
