AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The state's annual back-to-school sales tax holiday is upon us.

Texas' annual sales tax holiday runs through midnight Sunday, August 11.

The law, in place since 1999, exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced below $100 from sales tax, saving shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend during the weekend.

Officials with the Texas Comptroller's office estimate shoppers will save more than $102 million in state and local sales taxes this weekend.

You can find complete details on qualifying items and more at the Comptroller's website.
