Travis County deputy safe after getting caught in low water crossing

AUSTIN (KJCE) -- A Travis County Sheriff's deputy is safe after getting stuck in a low water crossing Wednesday morning.

Officials say the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. in the 24600 block of Ranch Road 1431 near Cow Creek. The deputy was investigating a report that someone had moved the barricades on a low water crossing in the area.

A fire department crew was able to rescue the deputy from the roof of his patrol vehicle.
