Voter registration deadline approaching for March 3 primary election

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- With Texas voters set to cast their first ballots in the 2020 election season in a little more than a month, the deadline for registering to vote is quickly approaching.

In order to vote in the March 3 primary, Texas voters must be registered by Monday, February 3.

You are eligible to vote if you are a United States citizen who is at least 17 years and 10 months old, fully discharged or pardoned from the court for a felony conviction, and have not been declared mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

You can check to see if you're registered to vote on the Texas Secretary of State's website.

You need to register to vote in the county you live in. Travis CountyWilliamson CountyHays County, Bastrop County, and Caldwell County all have information on their websites. You can also fill out and print an online application and mail it in; completed applications must be postmarked no later than February 3.

Early voting for the March 3 primary will run February 18-28.
